I hear NA servers have some decent population for a game this old so if you dont mind the quirks of older games, it's absolutely still a great game.

EU servers are mostly empty; few people here and there, though you can play with AI companions or try NA servers with some lag. No problem. Might be worth checking out physical copies in some shop near you though, they're often really cheap these days.
